For a newbie, who makes very little money online, paying for visitors may not work well. But once you develop the cashflow, it can work in your favor.

Paul - I generally find most marketing forums are a waste of time. You get some good nuggets of information mixed in with the endless alpha male banter. Wicked Fire is probably the best forum in terms of earners to learners ratio.

I don't like spending too much time reading. There's only so many good ideas you can work with at once.

@PKM - Chill out, can you ever resist the opportunity to promote yourself? I think not.

@Finch - Great and helpful post for newbs here. You should create a thread on digitalpoint with a link to this blog post and you will be their new god.

Excellent post, but quoting you here:

"First of all, you need to understand that most mainstream affiliate networks are not going to move you on to weekly payments overnight."

-- Finch, you know we pay weekly and we are mainstream :) -- I'll pretend you forgot that!

I've still yet to do anything but burn my own money with PPC, but that's the trials and tribulations of a newbie in this industry. I'll keep plugging away, trying new things, figure out what works from what doesn't. One thing's for sure, it's much more enjoyable work than directory submissions, article writing, squidoo page creation, stumbleupon profiles and tweeting bullshit for a living. I'll avoid digitalpoint and warrior forum, but where should I be going? Apart from this lovely blog of course!

Two things:
i) Loving the new design
ii) Props for the Leukemia Research decision. I gave that an almighty tweet for good measure!
