  • you couldn’t have said it better. International is the way to go, it’s like advertising to the US market 2 years ago. And one more thing you didn’t mention, there are other niches beside dating that work very very well on international markets.

  • “The maths don’t work, they just make it worse, but I…”

Normally, I dislike you for generally being very good competition, but you tend to write fairly smart pieces and you did manage to quote a “classic” song…so I’ll be nice.

HOWEVER, I do want to throw in a couple pennies.

What’s with advocating pushing lame NET 30 offers with $0.15 EPC’s? For the US market this is asking to lose money faster than a Christian dating offer on TrafficJunky. Don’t get me wrong, with volume you’re making a great case for a 25% ROI even at that low payout – if you can even hit it in the first place, but the real problem with FB will always be keeping that CTR high enough to keep your CPC’s low enough to maintain your profit margin. If you’re pushing US traffic only and expecting to convert a $2 offer profitably, you’d have to constantly monitor those campaigns, because those CPC’s can (and will) really swing when people get tired of seeing your ad.

Imagine applying that to a very small niche…that’s a lot of work keeping it fresh for $80 or $800. Agreed? Do you even get out of bed for “maybe” making $800 and seeing it 60 to 30 days later? I don’t. There are much better angles and offers.

Overall, though. I agree on doing the math(s), so the concept wasn’t lost on me.

  • @still right – I agree with what you’re saying.

I don’t recommend pushing $2 offers to American demographics on Facebook, and I rarely bother with niches that require such high maintenance. I don’t recommend advertising in America at all. The reason I don’t bother is because the maths don’t add up for me.

But you have to remember that the maths for you and I, and for many other affiliates… may not be the same as they are for somebody working a full-time job who has every reason to jump at the chance of making a quick $800.

I agree with your assessment though. In terms of scalability, the example above is not likely to make anybody rich. It’s all relative.

  • the best thing about this is that you said ‘do the maths’ and not, like lots of uk-wannabe-yank-tosspots would have said ‘you do the math’.

    Fair play to you sir!
